As an exclusive private use camp that is completely off the grid and located deep in the Serengeti in northern Tanzania, the Singita Explore certainly lives up to its name. Taking all the elements of traditional camp life, the Singita Explore Grumeti Reserves Tanzania adds a touch of luxury to a simple, authentic outdoor experience that is fresh, imaginative and exceedingly beautiful. The atmosphere is one of total freedom where man can reconnect with the natural world and enjoy spectacular views, along with sunrises and sunsets that appear as if out of a film. Situated on the migratory route of the wildebeest, the Singita Explore Grumeti Reserves Tanzania is an exceptional safari location where you will feel at one with the earth and its majestic wildlife.

Look & Feel

Designed by Cape Town-based interior specialists Cecile & Boyd, the concept behind the Singita Explore Grumeti Reserves Tanzania is one of comfortable living, romance and total relaxation. The designers looked at the utility of camping, then translated this into a concept by which the materials of the Land Rover — a quintessential camping feature —were used throughout the tents. Furnishings and details are made from rubber, leather, canvas and steel using unobtrusive, natural colours. Pared-back, stripped-down interiors leave campers entirely exposed to nature with just a thin layer of khaki canvas separating them from the wilderness.

There is glamping, and then there is the experience awaiting you at the Singita Explore Grumeti Reserves Tanzania. If you want to enjoy all the best parts of the camping experience — the great outdoors, the natural world, the sights and sounds of nature — along with the utmost in luxury living, this is the destination for you. Your own private guide, chef, camp host and camp staff will cater to your every need, such as arranging spontaneous game drives at all hours where you are likely to spot black rhino, cheetah, buffalo and bearded wildebeest. This is the most intimate way to explore a location of unparalleled natural beauty. Even the meals are cooked around an open campfire with the smoky aromas designed to encapsulate the essence of nature. As an enjoyable social experience, too, the staff will serve up hearty, rustic fare whilst telling tales about their experiences up close and personal with the African heartland.

If you visit during the annual wildebeest migration, tents are pitched directly in the path of the vast herds of animals sweeping past for pastures new.
